Salasya recounts heartbreak as Johana Ng’eno dies a year after Malulu Injendi

Speaking through a statement shared on X on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, Salasya recalled the burial of late Malava MP Malulu Injendi in March 2025 and the ongoing funeral arrangements for late Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ngong Ngeno, noting the unusual coincidence and the heavy grief it brings to the community.
He described the timing of these losses as a period that continues to weigh heavily on the people, tying both leaders together through the shared month of mourning.

Salasya shared his reflection on the pain of losing these leaders, stressing on the emotional significance of March as a day of remembrance.
“March has become a painful month for us. Exactly one year ago same date 4th, we laid Malulu Injendi to rest in Malava. Today, we gather again for the requiem mass of Johana Ngeno. Two leaders. Two painful goodbyes. One heavy month of March date 4. May their souls rest in eternal peace,” he stated.
He urged communities to come together in support of the families affected by these losses, showing the need for unity during times of grief.
Salasya also reminded the public that the contributions of both leaders left lasting legacies in their respective constituencies and sectors, from local development projects to mentorship of youth and community initiatives.
He described the emotional challenge of participating in consecutive memorials, stressing that the continuity of leadership service should be celebrated even in mourning.
The MP called on citizens to honour the memories of Injendi and Ngeno by carrying forward the values they stood for, including service, dedication, and commitment to public welfare.

“Two remarkable leaders gone, yet their impact endures. We pray for strength and comfort to the families, and for the community to remain united in this difficult time,” Salasya said.
Malulu Injendi’s death
Malava constituency MP Moses Malulu Injendi died on Monday, February 17, 2025, while undergoing treatment at the Aga Khan Hospital following a short illness.
Injendi’s burial ceremony was conducted on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, that was a state function attended by President William Ruto.
Funeral preparations for Johana Ng’eno
The funeral of Johana Ngong Ngeno, the Member of Parliament for Emurua Dikirr, is scheduled for Friday, March 6, 2026, at his Mogondo home in Narok County.
A joint service for Ngong Ngeno and his four aides Carlos Keter, Nick Kosgei, Amos Kipngetich, and Ronoh will be held at Emurua Dikirr Primary School grounds on Friday, March 6, 2026, starting at 11 am.

The body of Ngong Ngeno will be transported to his Mogondo residence on Thursday evening, March 5, 2026, for a night vigil in accordance with Kipsigis traditions.
