Ruto nominates Komora to chair NPSC, Collette Suda as commissioner
Former Supreme Court judge Jacktone Ojwang’s wife, Collette Suda, is set to make her public service comeback following a nomination by President William Ruto to sit on the National Police Service Commission (NPSC).
Following the expiry of the six-year tenure of NPSC commissioners and chairperson, President Ruto nominated Collete Suda alongside Peris Muthoni, Edwin Cheluget, Benjamin Juma Imai, and Angeline Siparo to the NPSC.
Ruto also nominated Amani Yuda Komora to head the commission despite not having been originally shortlisted for the position.
Chairperson nominee
In a statement on August 4, 2025, Ruto nominated Komora and Angeline Siparo to be the chairperson and member of the commission, respectively.

“It is notified that His Excellency the President, in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 250(2)(b) of the Constitution and in accordance with the procedure set out under Section 9(5) of the National Police Service Commission Act (Chapter 85, Laws of Kenya), has nominated the Chairperson and one member of the National Police Service Commission,” the statement reads.
“The two nominees for appointment to the Commission as chairperson and member, respectively, are as stated: Amani Yuda Komora and Angeline Yiamiton Siparo.
If Parliament approves the nominations, NPSC will be constituted with Suda, Peris Muthoni, Edwin Cheluget, Benjamin Juma Imai, and Angeline Siparo as commission members, and Komora as the chairperson, taking over from Eliud Kinuthia.
Former Busia Deputy Governor Kizito Wangalwa, former IEBC commissioner Margaret Mwachanya, former IPOA member Doreen Nkatha, former PS Micah Powon, former Gatanga MP Humphrey Kimani, John Mutegi, Komora Jilo, Susan Oyatsi, and John Otieno had been shortlisted for the position of NPSC chairperson.
Seasoned administrator
However, Komora Jilo collapsed while awaiting the interviews in March 2025.
Yuda Komora, a seasoned administrator with a PhD in Human Resource Management from JKUAT, has held senior roles at Kenya Ports Authority, Kenya Revenue Authority, and the National General Wages Council.
The terms of Lilian Kiamba, Eusebius Laibuta, Naftali Rono, Alice Otwala, and Ole Moyaki have come to an end after serving for six years alongside the commission’s chairperson Eliud Kinuthia.
