Ruto is Kenya Kwanza’s candidate – Gachagua
Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua has said Deputy President William Ruto will be Kenya Kwanza’s presidential candidate and that his running mate will come from Mount Kenya region.
Speaking to a local television station on Monday, Rigathi said ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford-Kenya’s Moses Wetangula are aware of the arrangement.
“The two leaders joined us knowing that Ruto was going to be our presidential candidate and his running will come from Mount Kenya,” he said.
Rigathi said Ruto’s running mate from Mount Kenya will be unveiled at an “appropriate time”.
The MP further said President Uhuru Kenyatta is ‘struggling’ to explain to Kenyans how Ruto betrayed him
“The President is struggling to explain why he betrayed DP Ruto. The handshake has nothing to do with the people of Kenya, it has everything to do with business and family interest,” he said.
He also weighed in on Ruto’s generous contributions to churches saying he makes money from his businesses.
“The President is the Head of State, he can’t be complaining about the theft to the public, he needs to take action.
“The rebellion in Mt. Kenya is on another level and the church is up in arms after he attacked them for taking money,” he added.
