Ruto buys 3D model of State House from Githurai artists

A section of Githurai artists were on Saturday, August 5, 2023, left elated after President William Ruto rewarded them Ksh100,000 for gifting him a State House model.
The Head of State visited the area during his Kiambu tour where he will commission various projects.
The President’s warm gesture followed after the youths carrying the model captured his attention.
The piece of art had been enclosed in see-through glass and well decorated and furnished to embody the State House in Nairobi.
Ruto admired the art, acknowledged the hard work the youths put forth in building the piece, and offered them Ksh100,000 in exchange.
“Naona mumefanya bidii, hayaa patia hao elfu mia moja, wanipatie hio(I have seen the work you have put into this piece. Give them Ksh100,000 in exchange for it),” he stated amid cheers from the crowd.

Dilly-dallying not, the youths excitedly handed over the artwork.
Ruto was accompanied by his deputy Rigathi Gachagua, Prime Cabinet Secretary (CS) Musalia Mudavadi and other leaders allied to the Kenya Kwanza coalition.
His trip comes as part of his tour of the Mount Kenya region where he is expected to visit, Nyeri, Laikipia, Kirinyaga and Kiambu counties to oversee various projects.
Earlier today, the President commissioned the Githurai water supply catering to over 8,400 residents.
Later, Ruto is expected to head to Kirinyaga County where he will commission the Kagio water supply project.
