Before his visit to Kericho, the head of state was in Kirinyaga County commissioning the Thiba dam on Saturday, October 15, 2022.

During the ceremony, the commander-in-chief reaffirmed several campaign pledges to Kenyan citizens.

For instance, he vowed that the hustler fund would be ready by December 2022.

“The Hustler fund will be ready by December. It will be accessed through Saccos without any security. Get ready for single-digit interest rate lending,” Ruto said.

The head of state also reaffirmed to citizens that the Ksh50billion fund would be available to low-income earners.

While reaffirming his commitment to his pledge, Ruto urged farmers to organize groups and join SACCOs so that they benefit from the kitty.

He also noted that Micro, small, and medium, enterprises (MSMEs) would benefit from the program.

“You people need to plan so that you will receive the money… do you think I will bring the government money and give it arbitrarily and then it will be lost?” the head of state posed.
