Kileleshwa ward MCA Robert Alai has backed the statement from the East African Legislative Assembly, Winnie Odinga, where she dismissed Oketch Salah’s much-publicised remarks about holding private conversations with the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

According to Alai, Oketch Salah is someone who cannot be trusted, and therefore agrees with the statement from Winnie Odinga that the self-proclaimed Raila’s adopted son could actually be lying about his encounters with the former prime minister before his death.

“On Oketch Salah, I agree with Winnie. I don’t know or trust the nigga!” Alai stated on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

Winnie Ondinga’s sentiments

Alai’s statement follows an interview that Winnie Odinga did on a local TV station, disputing Oketch’s claimed encounter with the late Raila Odinga before he died in an Indian hospital.

“I have never met Oketch Salah. He is not Raila’s adopted son. Such characters belong to Mathare Hospital,” Winnie said.

Oketch’s response

Oketch has been outspoken since Raila’s death as an adopted son of the late former prime minister, narrating his encounters with him in the hospital.

In his response to Winnie on his social media handles on Wednesday, January 26, 2026, Oketch has remained firm in standing by his words about his encounters with the late former prime minister and that the moments were real and painful. He has, however, vowed not to respond to Winnie, promising to respond in an interview.

“Because of the respect I have for Her Excellency the Ambassador, Mama Ida Min Piny from Migori, I chose to remain quiet. That was a deliberate decision. However, some things need clarity. I stand by everything I said about my last moments with Baba. Those moments were real, painful and lived. I will respond in an interview soon.” Oketch stated
