‘PSVs should reduce their fare’ – Senator Cherargei says after EPRA’s reduction of fuel prices
Nandi County Senator Samson Cherargei has yet again weighed in on the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority’s (EPRA) December fuel review.
In a statement on Sunday, December 15, 2024, Cherargei said that after EPRA dropped the prices of fuel, owners of passenger service vehicles (PSVs) should follow suit by reducing fares in equal measure to reflect lower fuel prices during this festive season.
In addition, the vocal senator suggested legal action be taken against those PSV owners who will not comply with the fare price reduction directives.
“With the reduction of fuel prices in the country, the matatus, buses, and passenger service vehicles (PSVs) should equally reduce their fare prices in equal measure to reflect lower fuel prices. Failure to which, the police should crack down on the non-compliant PSVs in the country,” Cherargei said via his official X account.
Cherargei on price drop
On Saturday, December 14, 2024, Cherargei, via his X account, said that the lowering of fuel prices is the best Christmas gift for Kenyans from President William Ruto.
Noting that the reduction leads to a lower cost of living.
“Rudderless and clueless critics cannot share the impact of lowering fuel leads to a low cost of living. The reduction of fuel in the country is the best Christmas gift for this festive season. The strategies of HE Ruto in creating a prosperous nation for all is starting to bear fruits,” he said.
