PSC announces hundreds of job vacancies across govt ministries
By Mabonga Makhanu, December 16, 2025The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced a wide range of job vacancies across ministries, state departments, and public institutions, offering fresh opportunities for qualified Kenyans to join the public service.
In a notice published by the Commission on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, the vacancies cut across senior, middle-level, and entry-level positions, reflecting the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen service delivery and institutional capacity in key sectors.
Among the notable openings is the position of Chairperson at the Kenya Trade Remedies Agency (KETRA) under the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry, with one vacancy available.
The vacancies
The PSC has also advertised numerous promotional positions within ministries and state departments. These include secretaries in various departments such as Government Delivery Unit, Economic Planning, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Youth Development, Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, Public Sector Reforms, Psychological Counselling and Wellness Services, and Human Resource Information Services.

Director-level positions have also been advertised, including Director of Foreign Service (Minister II), Director of Domestic Trade, Director of Meteorological Services, Director of Office Administrative Services, Director of Social Development, Director of Children Services, and Director of Physical Planning, among others. Several Deputy Director and Assistant Director roles are also available across departments such as Foreign Service, Climate Change, Regional Development, Human Resource Management, Children Services and Social Development.
In addition, the Commission has announced a significant number of entry-level positions targeting professionals and support staff.
These include Administration Officer II, Human Resource Management and Development Officer II, Compliance Audit Officer II, Ethics and Values Officer II, Accountant II, Internal Auditor II, Records Management Officer II, ICT Officer II, Research Officer II, Policy Analyst II, Supply Chain Management Officer II and Assistant Supply Chain Management Officer.
Other entry-level and support roles include Assistant Public Communication Officer III, Driver II, Devolution Officer II, Land Information Officer II, Lands Records Management Assistant III, Clerical Officer II and Office Assistant III (Senior Support Staff). Notably, the Clerical Officer II and Office Assistant III positions have the highest number of vacancies, running into hundreds.
According to the PSC, all applications must be submitted online through the Commission’s official website at www.publicservice.go.ke or via the jobs portal www.psckjobs.go.ke. Hard copy applications will not be accepted.

Interested candidates
Interested candidates are required to submit their applications on or before January 9, 2026, at 5:00 pm East African Time. The Commission has cautioned applicants to beware of fraudsters, emphasising that PSC does not charge any fees for job applications, shortlisting, interviews or appointments.
The Commission encouraged qualified Kenyans from all backgrounds to apply, noting that the recruitment process will be guided by merit, fairness and inclusivity in line with constitutional requirements.
