Process to replace Chebukati begins
The process of recruiting the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairperson and commissioners has kicked off in earnest after Parliament yesterday invited persons interested to sit in the selection panel for the jobs to submit their applications by Monday.
Clerk of the Senate and secretary to the Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) Jeremiah Nyegenye (pictured) told those interested in the positions to download and fill in the job application form from the parliamentary website. “All applications should be addressed to the clerk of the senate/ secretary, Parliamentary Service Commission and should be submitted online as a PDF format. Noting that statutory timelines, all applications should be received no later than 5:00 pm on Monday 20th February 2023. Any application received after this deadline shall not be considered,” reads the notice.
Invites applications
Adds the notice, “The PSC now invites applications from suitably qualified persons who satisfy the provisions of the constitution and the IEBC act 2011for appointment as its two nominee’s one man and one woman to the selection panel for chairperson and members of the IEBC.”
Parliament is entitled to nominate two representatives to the panel being a man and a woman while other entities such as the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), Public Service Commission (PSC), Political Parties Liaison Committee (PPLC) are entitled to nominate one person each while the inter Religious Council of Kenya will nominate two persons.
