Police seize rolls and several sachets of bhang in Thika operation
By Mustafa Juma, December 7, 2025Officers from Thika Police Station have seized several rolls and sachets of bhang in an operation targeting narcotic drugs in the Majengo area.
The National Police Service (NPS), in a statement issued via social media on Sunday, December 7, 2025, said the operation, conducted on Saturday, December 6, led to the arrest of one person of interest.
The police say 33 rolls and 26 sachets of cannabis sativa were recovered during the operation.

“Yesterday, officers from Thika Police Station conducted an operation targeting narcotic drugs in the Majengo area of Thika, leading to the arrest of one suspect. During the operation, officers recovered 33 rolls and 26 sachets of cannabis sativa,” the statement read in part.
The arrested person of interest is currently being detained at Thika Police Station, awaiting arraignment in court on Monday, December 8, 2025.
Exhibit
The seized bhang has also been secured as an exhibit.
“The suspect was escorted to the station and is being held in custody pending arraignment in court. The evidence was also secured and stored at the station,” NPS stated.

Similar arrests
The development comes just two days after two people were arrested with 38 rolls of bhang in the Makao area of Kiamaina Ward.
In a statement shared by the NPS on Saturday, December 6, 2025, the arrests were made on Friday, December 5, 2025, during a police operation by officers from Kiugoine Police Station.
The NPS said the operation was part of its ongoing efforts to fight illegal drugs and keep communities safe.
