Police nab 7 men linked to robbery with violence in Kisumu
By Cynthia Lodite, May 4, 2026Police Officers in Kisumu East Sub-County have apprehended seven individuals linked to a recent robbery with violence incident.
In a statement by the National Police Service on Monday, May 4, 2026, the Police confirmed that the persons of interest were apprehended at Kamrongo Village, within Chiga Sub-Location.
“Officers of the National Police Service in Kisumu East Sub-County have arrested seven suspects linked to a recent robbery with violence incident,” NPS said.
At the same time, the officers confirmed that, acting on credible information, they pursued the seven, who are believed to be accomplices in an earlier arrest.
“Acting on credible information, officers pursued these additional suspects, believed to be accomplices to an earlier arrest, and successfully apprehended them at Kamrongo Village, within Chiga Sub-Location,” NPS said.
During the operation, officers recovered a motorcycle suspected to have been used in the commission of the crime, as well as approximately three kilograms of a substance believed to be cannabis.
In addition, the officers announced that all suspects are in custody pending arraignment in court, with efforts ongoing to apprehend other accomplices believed to be at large.
“The National Police Service remains resolute in its commitment to ensuring public security and safety. We urge members of the public to continue reporting any suspicious activities to the nearest police station,”NPS added.

Past arrest
The arrest came days after Police officers from Chiga Police Station in Kisumu East Sub-County successfully apprehended a key person of interest linked to a robbery with violence incident reported in the area.
In a statement by the National Police Service on Thursday, April 30, 2026, the officers confirmed that the person of interest was traced at his home in Kamrongo Village, Chiga Sub-Location.
“Following a reliable tip-off and a swift tactical operation launched early this morning, officers from Chiga Police Station tracked down and arrested the suspect at his home in Kamrongo Village, Chiga Sub-Location,” NPS said.
During the arrest, the officers recovered a red Honda 125 motorcycle believed to have been used to escape from the scene of the robbery.
