Pathologist accused of stealing heart from corpse

A stolen heart is associated with lover’s smitten over each other but does not mean actual stealing of the blood pumping organ until a top pathologist was arraigned in court two years ago suspected of stealing body organs from corpses.

Dr Moses Njue, once the chief Government pathologist, was accused of secretly taking away a man’s heart during a post-mortem.

The bizarre theft is alleged to have occurred at the Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi when the doctor did an autopsy on Mr Timothy Mwandi Muumbo.

This was not the first time Njue was accused of illegally harvesting body parts from the dead.

The State accuses him of allegedly taking away a dead man’s heart and kidneys at Meru’s Consolata Mission Hospital.
