Perennial water scarcity in Gatundu South, Kiambu County will be a thing of the past once the ongoing multi-billion-shilling water projects in the constituency are completed.

Under the larger Gatundu Water Supply and Sewerage Project, the Sh1.75 billion Rwabura, Handege and Ng’enda water projects are expected to solve decades of water challenges in the constituency.
Once complete, the projects that will be producing 17,000 cubic meters of water daily will connect over 60,000 Gatundu residents to clean, sufficient water.

According to area MP Gabriel Kagombe, the project, which is being implemented by Athi Water Works Development Agency, through the Kenya Towns Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation Programme, will ensure that the region is adequately supplied with water.

Funded by the government and the African Development Bank, the project, the MP said is projected to be completed and operational before the end of this year.
