Nine United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Nominated Members of County Assembly have vowed to appeal the High Court judgment that revoked their nomination to the Uasin Gishu County Assembly.

The MCAs faulted the High Court verdict arguing that the Presiding Judge Reuben Nyakundi did not consider their defence while delivering the ruling.

Addressing the media at Noble hotel on the outskirts of Eldoret town, the disgruntled former nominated MCAs regretted that the judgment had stopped the good work they had done for the people of Uasin Gishu county.

“We are dismayed by the outcome of the court ruling that did not pay attention to the evidence we presented and as such, we have resolved to soldier on until we get justice,” vowed their spokesperson James Wachira.

Wachira said they are exploring the possibility of filing an appeal against Justice Reuben Nyakundi’s judgment that revoked their nomination to the Uasin Gishu County Assembly.

“Even though the ruling was not in our favour, that will not discourage or scare us from taking the battle to the next level in our quest to get justice for what rightfully belongs to us,” he said.  Wachira was reacting to last week’s judgment in which they were dealt a blow for a third time in an arrow after the High Court in Eldoret on Thursday revoked their nomination. This was after Justice Nyakundi upheld revocation of the MCAs nomination by the High Court Judge Stephen Riech.
