Osotsi reveals details of woman he was with during Kisumu attack
By Mabonga Makhanu, April 10, 2026Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi has revealed details of the lady who was accompanying him, as seen in the CCTV footage, dismissing rumours of a love triangle.
While speaking from his hospital bed on Thursday, April 9, 2026, the outspoken senator, who was writhing in pain and agony, expressed his frustration that a blogger who doubles as a Member of County Assembly (MCA) has been paid to propagate the love-triangle narrative.
He dismissed it, saying that the lady he was with was his staff member, and identified her as Jennifer, well known by people around him and the rest of the staff.
“There is a blogger who has said I was involved in a love triangle. The lady I was with is known to everyone – she is Jennifer, and she is also my staff member,” Osotsi said.
His personal assistant, who was also at his bedside, stated that the attackers went ahead to seize his phone and posted on his social media handles that he was with a woman whose husband had beaten him, leaving united opposition leaders who had gone to visit him appalled.
Leaders condemn love-affair narrative
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who was standing beside him, where Osotsi’s wife was also present, urged her not to listen to the narrative, terming it lies.
The Democratic Action Party (DAP-K) leader, who had also accompanied the Wiper boss, echoed the same, saying that if it had been a love triangle, it could not have happened in such an open place. He added that a similar narrative was once pushed against former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo after his gruesome accident, which many believed was foul play.
Osotsi, while recounting events leading to his assault, has himself linked the attack to a senior government official, saying that he is known for goonism and recruiting young men to be part of his entourage everywhere.
“I saw a group of youths, about 20 of them, entering the hotel, and they did not look like they were going to harm me, because they were shouting, ‘Senator, Senator.’ Then when they moved closer, a few of them greeted me, and then all of a sudden, they started hitting me.
Amisi dismisses love affair narrative
Several other leaders, led by Caleb Amisi, have come out to denounce the love triangle narrative, saying that it is being used to divert the public from the real cause of the attack.
“And to those who are trying to single out the attack on Godfrey Osotsi as a love affair, I see some sponsorship across social media attempting to portray it that way,” he said.
“When these goons were paraded at Kisumu Airport, the entire airport was full of them during the Linda Mwananchi tour. What love affair was there?”
