Osoro to opposition: Bring your agenda before going to IEBC
By Ndiritu Wanjiru, January 29, 2026South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro has challengedmem bers of the opposition to table their agenda of what they intend to deliver to the people before going to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to raise issues concerning the election preparedness.
Speaking in Kisii County on Thursday, January 29, 2026, during an event led by President William Ruto, Osoro blamed members of the United Opposition for not having an agenda, challenging them to first settle on a presidential candidate, have an agenda before going to IEBC to raise issues of concern ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
“Serikali ya William Ruto ni serikali ya agenda and that is why we are telling everybody ya kwamba sasa hivi ni wakati wa kazi, ni wakati wa agenda,wakati huo mwingine utafika. Wengine wote wakiwa na maneno kwa vijana na kwa Kakenya walete agenda kwanza na sio complain kwanza. Walete agenda kwanza waiweke kwa meza alafu Wakenya wataamua wakati huo ukifika tunawaambia wenzetu ya kwamba walete agenda peke yake, hatutaki mambo mengi. Agenda, baada ya agenda walete candidate na baada ya candidate ndio waende IEBC,”Osoro said.
Loosely translated as“William Ruto’s government is a government with an agenda, and that is why we are telling everybody that it is time for work. It is time for the agenda. The other time will come. If the others have an agenda for the youths and Kenyans, let them bring an agenda, but not complaints first. Let them bring their agenda and table it for Kenyans to decide when the time is right. We are telling our colleagues to just bring the agenda; we do not want a lot of things. Agenda, then after the agenda, let them bring a candidate so that they can now proceed to the IEBC.”
Osoro’s sentiments come a day after the members of the United Opposition visited the IEBC to raise what they termed as pertinent issues in preparedness for the 2027 General Elections, where, among the issues they raised was the KIEMS kit procurement process.
