By , February 9, 2022

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has asked all officials aspiring to run in the August 9 General-Election  to resign by Tuesday next week.

In a notice to members, ODM said all officials  of the party structures should ensure they have resigned except those from the National Executive Committee.

“This is to notify all aspirants who are officials of the ODM party structures except members of the National Executive Committee to resign by 15th February.

The National Elections Board  (NEB) in consultation with the affected structures and relevant party organs will guide on the filling of the vacancies which will arise,” read a notice from chairperson NEB Catherine Mumma (pictured).

Mumma told all party grassroots officials and delegates to desist from playing any partisan role during the party primaries.

“ This means that the party officials shall not be used as campaign tools, agents or workers of any aspirant during the party primaries. Any official wishing to support a particular candidate must resign from any party position,” she warned Mumma.

She revealed that the party would use delegates, consensus and direct nomination  to pick suitable candidates.
