Olakira drops debut EP, talks about Kenyan show
Fast-rising Nigerian star and U And I music signee Olakira has just debuted his first Extended Play (EP) titled 4play.
The singer is riding high with his single titled Sere featuring Wasafi’s ‘First Lady’ Zuchu, intimating to his Kenyan fans that after the lockdown cessations are lifted, he only has one mission, to rock with his beloved legion of fans as he mentioned exclusively to Spice.
4play is a collaborative work of the multi-talented artiste that has seen him produce two songs and also feature various producers and two fast-rising female artistes Sho Madjozi of South Africa and bongo’s finest Zuchu.
The tracks in the EP are Sere ft Zuchu and produced by Simba Tagz, Sterryo, and Drumatik. The second track Gotchu was produced by Drumatic while the third and fourth track Hot Night and Call On Me ft Sho Madjozi are works of Simba Tagz and Mr Kamara, and Olakira and T Boy the Flame. Other bonus tracks include For Life produced by Qasebeatz and Simba Tagz and Summertime ft Moonchild and Sanelly produced by Olakira, Mr Kamara and Drumatik.
Sere, released two weeks ago, is the first single off the EP and has been greatly received, with the video garnering more than 1.3 million views on YouTube and over 100,000 streams across digital platforms.
Speaking about his future plans, Olakira says, “4 Play is just a tease of what’s to come in the album due later in the year. I am currently in the studio working on new stuff that will blow your minds off,” he says.
Olakira had a great 2020 despite the Covid-19 pandemic, with his single In My Maserati becoming a global anthem with 60 million cumulative views on YouTube and over 150 million streams across digital platforms.
The star is also set to release three videos and embark on a continental tour to promote the EP soon after lockdown restrictions are eased.
