The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has released the official programme for its 20th anniversary celebrations, scheduled for November 14 to 16, 2025, in Mombasa County.

The events come as the party continues to honour the legacy of its late leader, former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga.

The three-day ODM@20 commemoration will start on Thursday, November 13, 2025, with a special sitting of the National Governing Council (NGC). Party officials will review ODM’s journey over the past two decades, consolidate organisational strength, and set out plans for the future.

On Friday, November 14, 2025, the activities begin with a breakfast meeting organised by the ODM Disability League from 7:00 am to 9:00 am. Later in the morning, the party will host side-by-side summits for women and youth from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The day concludes with a youth concert from 6:00 pm until midnight.

Saturday, November 15, 2025, will feature a main celebration at Mama Ngina Waterfront, running from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm. The event will highlight Raila Odinga’s vision, achievements, and legacy and offer participants a chance to recommit to safeguarding democratic gains earned over the last 20 years. In the evening, ODM will hold a Founders’ Dinner at Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort from 6:30 pm.

Thanksgiving service

The celebrations will conclude on Sunday, November 16, with an interreligious thanksgiving service to honour Raila Odinga and reflect on ODM’s journey. The service will bring together party members, supporters, and friends to celebrate the life and leadership of the late party leader.

The party leader Senator Oburu Oginga, has invited all ODM members and supporters to take part in the anniversary.

“ODM@20 is not merely a marker in time,” he said.

“It is a renewal of our oath to defend democracy, protect freedoms, and continue the fight for equality and social justice.”

The anniversary programme builds on earlier memorial activities held across the country. ODM organised regional events in Magarini, Kilifi, Homa Bay, and Migori earlier in November, allowing supporters to celebrate Raila’s life and recommit to his ideals of peace, inclusion, and democracy.

The party has also earlier urged members to focus on unity and avoid internal divisions, ahead of the November 27, 2025, by-elections, which will test ODM’s cohesion in the post-Raila era.
