Oburu meets senior ODM officials ahead of special NDC

ODM party leader Oburu Odinga convened senior party officials in Nairobi to assess preparations for the upcoming Special National Delegates Conference (SNDC), stressing the importance of stability and unity within the party.

In a statement shared on X on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, Oburu highlighted that the leadership meeting was aimed at ensuring all logistical and strategic arrangements for the SNDC were in place.

“Today, I presided over the ODM leadership meeting at our party offices to evaluate our readiness for the upcoming Special National Delegates Conference (SNDC),” he wrote.

The party leader further explained that the discussions were thorough, covering operational frameworks and planning, to make the conference a smooth and inclusive process, he went on to stress the need for careful coordination among the leadership team.

“Our deliberations focused on a rigorous assessment of logistical and strategic frameworks,” Oburu Odinga added.

Oburu further stressed the collaboration among top officials to ensure effective decision-making.

“I was joined by dedicated committee members, including National Chair Gladys Wanga, National Treasurer Timothy Bosire, Director of Elections Junet Mohamed, Senate Minority Leader Stewart Madzayo, and Nixon Kakiri, Beth Syengo, and Rosa Buyu,” he said.

The ODM leader concluded by reaffirming that party cohesion and the well-being of its members remain the top priority as the SNDC approaches. He urged leaders and members alike to stay committed to the party’s ideals and collective goals.

“We continue to prioritise the party’s stability and unity for the benefit of all our members,” Oburu Odinga stated.

ODM date for NDC

ODM announced that its NDC will meet on Friday, March 27, 2026, a key gathering expected to shape the party’s strategy ahead of the 2027 elections.

“As a party of ODM, we are ready to go into negotiations with other formations in the country, the like-minded,” Oburu said during the rally. “I know there are a few of them, but we are starting negotiations with our current partners in the broad-based government, which is UDA. And my party has given me authority to start negotiations,” Oburu Odinga said.
