NPS: Flood fatalities climb to 110 amid ongoing heavy rains
The National Police Service has reported a rise in the number of fatalities linked to ongoing floods across various parts of the country, with the death toll now standing at 110 as of March 29, 2026.
In a statement by the NPS on Monday, March 30, 2026, the National Police confirmed that the situation continues to deteriorate as heavy rains persist in several regions, leading to widespread destruction and displacement.
At the same time, the Officers have noted that the destruction has affected the transport networks and public utilities.
“Widespread flooding continues to affect communities across the country, impacting 30 counties and causing extensive damage to critical infrastructure, including transport networks and public utilities,” NPS said.
Meanwhile, the death toll has risen by two from the previously confirmed 108 deaths nationwide, bringing the national toll to 110 fatalities.
According to the new report, the two fatalities were reported in the Western and Nyanza regions, as coordinated response efforts remain active to enhance safety and provide assistance.

“The death toll had risen to 110 as of yesterday evening, following two additional fatalities reported in the Western and Nyanza regions. Coordinated response efforts remain active to enhance safety and provide assistance,” NPS added.
On the other hand, the National Police Service has urged members of the public to report any incident through the emergency lines for a quick response.
“National Police Service emergency lines are accessible 24/7: 999, or 911. Members of the public can also report incidents through #FichuaKwaDCI on 0800 722 203 (toll-free) or via WhatsApp on 0709 570 000,” NPS added.
In addition, as the country grapples with the unfolding disaster, the authorities have called on members of the public to access updates and alerts from the Kenya Meteorological Department regularly.
“Further, to enhance preparedness and response to weather-related risks, the public is encouraged to regularly access updates and alerts from the Kenya Meteorological Department via https://meteo.go.ke. The National Police Service remains steadfast in its commitment to serving and protecting the public,” NPS stated.
