Here is what you need to know in order to get up to speed with today’s happenings.

KCSE

Today marks week three of the ongoing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination.

KCSE began in earnest on October 23, 2023, after rehearsals were held on October 19, 2023.

Candidates were examined in oral practical exams in week one of KCSE. The practical exams included orals for French, German, Arabic, Kenya Sign Language and music.

For week two, candidates were examined in French, German and Arabic (listening, comprehension, dictation and creative writing) and Kenyan Sign Language (receptive skills).

For week three of KCSE beginning today, candidates will write exams for common subjects. Today students will sit for Chemistry Paper One and English Paper One (Functional Skills).

TSC CEO Nancy Macharia will today supervise the distribution of KCSE examination materials at the Mvita Container in Mombasa County.

Basic Education Principal Secretary Dr Belio Kipsang will supervise the distribution of KCSE Examination materials at the Westlands Subcounty Container, Nairobi, on Waiyaki Way.

Committee on Education

The Committee on Education will today have a meeting with the Ministry of Education and the Teachers Service Commission to consider the 2023/2024 Supplementary Estimates.

The meeting will be held at Four Points by Sheraton, JKIA, Nairobi.

International SACCO CEO’s summit

The inaugural International CEO Summit for selected leaders interested in supporting cooperative initiatives in Africa continues today.

The summit has been organized to take place from November 5 to 11, 2023.

The International CEO Summit is a remarkably diverse collection of Co-operative system
leaders globally convened by African American Credit Union Coalition (AACUC).

This summit will further allow the leaders to gain insights into the Kenyan financial cooperative sector and explore partnership opportunities. Selected delegates are 22 CEOs from high-performing SACCOs in the USA, Canada, Europe, and Africa.

Europe top league action

Today will witness an unusual Monday night football action across the top three leagues in Europe.

In the Premier league, Tottenham seek to go back on top of the table as they take on 13th-placed Chelsea.

A win for Tottenham will take them two points ahead of Manchester City and five points ahead of Arsenal.

In La Liga, Getafe seek to shake off their intriguing run which has seen them draw each of their last five league outings as they take on Cadiz CF.

Serie A will tonight witness two matches; Frosinone take on Empoli while Torino will clash with Sassuolo.
