It was a sigh of relief for an MCA in Kakamega county after a case challenging his nomination was thrown out.

Amos Liyayi Munasia won the case that has been haunting him since last year throwing his supporters into frenzied celebrations at the Kakamega Law Courts.

Justice PJ. Otieno ruled that the MCA was validly nominated by the Orange Democratic Party. “The appellant, Geoffrey Muhongo Mitalo, has failed to prove to this honourable court that the respondent had failed to meet the threshold to be nominated as a Ward Representative,” he added.

Munasia’s supporters broke into song and dance outside the law courts and trekked all the way to his home in Ikolomani constituency, Kakamega county.

“This has been a tedious journey of nine months following this case. I am elated that justice has finally been served,” he said.
