Gen Zs, Ruto-Raila clash

All eyes will be on the young population’s reactions to President William Ruto and opposition leader Raila Odinga’s six-day multi-sectorial forum aimed at fostering national dialogue following recent anti-government protests.

So far Gen Zs have criticized Raila for agreeing to the national dialogue describing it as betrayal.

The forum set to commence on July 15, 2024, is expected to help resolve the current crisis plaguing the country according to Ruto and Raila.

“I am happy to confirm that we have had consultations and have agreed that a dialogue is the way forward out of the crisis that we are facing in the country,” Odinga said after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) (Amendment) Bill, 2024 was signed into law at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, by President Ruto.

“We have agreed that we give people an opportunity to be heard, to express themselves so that a lasting solution can be found.”
