Kiharu Member of Parliament, Ndindi Nyoro, has reflected on what he described as a demanding academic journey after completing two master’s degrees in economics, almost at the same time, undertaken at two different public universities.

In a statement on Friday, December 19, 2025, Nyoro spoke about balancing the academic workload while pursuing advanced studies at both Kenyatta University and the University of Nairobi.

“Grateful to have graduated today with a Master of Economics (Policy and Management) from Kenyatta University,” Nyoro wrote.

He said the milestone at Kenyatta University came shortly after completing another postgraduate programme, marking the end of a period he described as intense but rewarding.

“It is also refreshing to have recently graduated with an M.A. (Economics) from the University of Nairobi,” he said.

Nyoro explained that taking on two master’s programmes almost concurrently was a deliberate decision driven by the need to sharpen his understanding of economic issues and improve how decisions are made, especially those that affect the wider economy. He noted that studying in two different institutions at the same time required discipline, sacrifice, and careful time management.

“It has been an intense period pursuing two Master’s Degrees almost concurrently and in different institutions. The decision was motivated by the need to refine decision-making, especially on matters that affect the Economy,” Nyoro stated.

Beyond the academic demands, Nyoro said the experience offered lessons that went beyond lecture halls and coursework. He reflected on the value of interactions with fellow students, lecturers, supervisors, and other stakeholders, describing them as an important part of the learning process.

“The output was more than just academics, as moments shared with classmates, Lectures, supervisors, and all stakeholders also served as learning experiences,” he said.

Nyoro also took time to congratulate other graduates, acknowledging that many had walked similarly challenging paths to reach their academic goals. His message recognised the collective effort and persistence required to complete higher education, particularly at the postgraduate level.

“Congratulations to all who graduated today from KU and all the other institutions that held their graduation ceremonies today and in the recent past,” he wrote.
