Ndegwa Njiru slams Simba Arati over remarks on handling disruptions at his political rallies

By , December 14, 2025

Advocate Ndegwa Njiru has lashed out at Kisii Governor Simba Arati after his threats on how he will be handling those who interfere with his political rallies going forward.

This came after Arati, during the county Jamhuri Day celebrations at Kisii Stadium, warned that anybody who is caught disrupting his political meetings going forward will be countered by him mobilizing his supporters to storm the homes of the organisers of the disruptors of his meetings, eat everything, and after finishing, defecate to fill their toilets.

These remarks from Arati have elicited numerous reactions from Kenyans who have come out to express their disappointment with Arati’s remarks, one of them being Ndegwa Njiru, who is eyeing the Kirinyaga Senate seat in 2027.

He stated that with such leaders, Kenya cannot reach Singapore or realise its vision of being a first-world economy as President Ruto wishes if leaders like Arati with such thinking are the vision and destiny carriers.

He went ahead to express his disappointment at how the governor could gather Kisii locals and tell them such remarks, which, according to him, are low and unbecoming for a person of Arati’s calibre.

“Who cursed us? Weeee…tutafika Singapore tukiwa tumechoka sana kama these types of leaders are the vision and destiny carriers. Simba arati, you gathered the poor Abagusii people to come and feed them na uchenzi kama huo?”

Kisii politics

This comes at a time when the Kisii region seems to be departing from its traditional political direction, where they always rallied behind the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and supported the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, to now seemingly waiting for the direction that former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i would show them.

This has put leaders like Simba Arati and South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro at odds with the community, which saw Osoro receive a lot of hurdles during the recently concluded by-elections, where he encountered hostile groups, with candidates in three by-election centres all aligned to Matiang’i emerging victorious in the mini-polls.

Simba Arati’s political meetings are not new to disruption.

His past political forums have been interrupted, forcing his security to take charge of him, with his supporters each running in his direction.

This was prominent when he was on opposing sides with Silvanus Osoro, but since the broad-based arrangement came into place, this has reduced, though he is now appearing to face hostility from Matiang’i’s supporters after maintaining his stance in the broad-based arrangement.
