Ndegwa Njiru slams Kuria over Ksh5B Industrial Park Project
By Kiprono Keileb, December 20, 2025Lawyer and human rights activist Ndegwa Njiru has launched a sharp attack on former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria over the Ksh5 billion industrial parks project, saying the initiative has failed to deliver what was promised to Kenyans.
In a statement shared on X on Saturday, December 20, 2025, Njiru questioned how billions of public funds could be spent with little to show on the ground at a time when unemployment remains high and counties continue to struggle with stalled development projects.
“Fellow patriots at heart, the foul cry by Moses Kuria must be called out for what it truly is,” the statement reads.

Njiru said the industrial parks plan was presented to the public as a bold solution meant to create jobs, grow industries, and drive prosperity at the county level. However, he argued that nearly three years later, the reality on the ground tells a different story, with many sites still incomplete or lying idle, far from the thriving centres that were promised.
“The Ksh5 billion industrial parks project was sold to Kenyans as a game-changing blueprint for jobs, industry, and county-level prosperity. Instead, nearly three years later, we are confronted with a painful truth: billions have been spent, but the vision remains largely unfulfilled. What stands across the country are not thriving hubs of innovation but incomplete structures and idle land. Clearly, symbols of a promise betrayed,” he wrote.

He went on to say that the stalled state of the project raises serious concerns about how it was planned, supervised, and evaluated.
Njiru questioned who was responsible for approving and monitoring the spending and why taxpayers are left to carry the burden of what he described as a costly failure.
“This is more than a stalled project; it is a glaring indictment of planning, oversight, and accountability. How did such a colossal allocation yield so little? Who approved, monitored, and evaluated these investments? And why are taxpayers expected to absorb the cost of failure while the country continues to struggle with unemployment and stalled development?” he asked.

Njiru directly addressed Kuria, insisting that Kenyans deserve clear answers rather than excuses or blame-shifting. He said the lack of even a single fully functional industrial park per county shows that something went fundamentally wrong.
“Kuria, Kenyans deserve answers, not excuses, not shifting blame, and not more publicity slogans. If five billion shillings cannot deliver even one fully functioning industrial park per county, then something is fundamentally broken,” he asked
He further argued that transparency and accountability should not be optional, warning against normalising large promises that end up as unused projects.
“Transparency is no longer optional; it is an obligation. We cannot continue normalising grand promises that end in white elephants while citizens bear the consequences,” he stated

Njiru concluded by extending his criticism to President William Ruto’s administration, accusing it of aggressively selling what he called a failed vision to the public and warning of serious consequences if lessons are not learned.
“Finally, Pres. Ruto and his administration were shouting at the top of their voices and foaming at the mouth while trying to sell this failed industrial parks vision to Kenyans.”
“And in the same measure, they are trying to force the Singaporean dream down our throats. I dare tell you, fellow Kenyans, it will end in premium tears. And in bigger doom should the Cancer to Kenya be elected for a 2nd term in 2027,” he wrote.
