Defending Champions National Cereal & Produce Board (NCPB), Equity Bank and General Service Unit (GSU) seem to be inseparable in the Men’s Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) Championship after 10 rounds.

They are all tied on 20 points from 10 matches but only separated by goal difference with NCPB leading the Bankers and then GSU coming in third. All three had winning runs at the weekend with NCPB having the biggest margin of the three.

Saturday saw NCPB hit Kenyatta University for 45-24 at the Nyayo National Stadium Gymnasium.The match which ended at 23-09 during the break saw the Cereals side dominate in all areas of the court.NCPB had 13 different scorers on the board with Winston Chakai and Timothy Kirimi had six goals haul in the game while William Malui weighed in with five as the NCPB team literally went guns blazing. 

As or the losing side,despite their efforts,the leaking defence cost them heavily with their goalkeeper always exposed.However for all their troubles,they had their moments via seven goal hero Jospring Osinde assisted closely by the duo of Maurice Opuoka and Wenslaus Ochieng who both scored five apiece.KU are currently in 16th place with seven points in the bag off 10 matches played.

Meanwhile Equity Bank ran riot against Young City in an overwhelming 42-15 win Sunday. The Bankers proved too strong for mercy and do minated all halves effectively as they took the first half lead of 24-07. Equity had Simon Mutuku on seven and Jefferson Jomo on six leading the charts while at the same time they held on well at their backline.

Valarie Stower and Prevailer Muhani also came to the party with five goals apiece for Equity Bank.The deflated Young City simply had no answers as only Dickson Manyangu on six and Danstone Shamalla on four to score.City are down the barrel in 23rd position with two points off nine matches.
In another duel,GSU also did well with a deserving 37-22 win over Spartan and a day afterwards silenced University of Eldoret 32-17 to secure four important points at the weekend. Against UOE,the GSU side had Christopher Mayende on-song with 10 goals with his attacking prowess on full-effect.In the duel against Spartan,the duo of Martin Nguli and Chris Mayende scored seven apiece in the game that GSU took charge of from the get go with a commanding 17-8 lead at the break.
