Narok governor blamed for chaos witnessed during Gachagua’s tour
By Mabonga Makhanu, November 25, 2025Ole Kenta, who unsuccessfully vied for the Narok County gubernatorial position, has come out to accuse the county boss, Ole Ntutu, of being behind the chaos witnessed during a visit by Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua, who was in the county to campaign for his candidate Douglas Masikonde in the Narok Town Ward by-elections.
Speaking in a video posted on his social media handles on Monday, November 24, 2025, Ole Kenta accused his former rival in the gubernatorial race of orchestrating the violence witnessed in Narok Town, where former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was forced to seek alternative routes after being blocked by rowdy youths and anti-riot police officers.
Gachagua eventually dramatically entered Narok Town, donning a police helmet.
Ole Kenta recalled remarks made earlier by Ntutu, who had claimed that his vote and that of his wife would be enough to propel the United Democratic Alliance candidate to the County Assembly. Kenta said that these words alone were enough proof that Ole Ntutu was behind the chaos.
Kenta, who was recently endorsed by the former Deputy President as his party’s candidate in 2027, stated that he will ensure Ntutu is sent home in the next election.
“Ati Ntutu anasema kura yake na ya bibi ati imetosha kupitisha candidate wa UDA hio haiwezekani, nataka kumwambia anigonjee 2027.”
Gachagua’s reaction
This comes after Rigathi Gachagua successfully manoeuvred his way into Narok Town to campaign for his candidate.
After the rally, he took to his social media pages, slamming the state and labelling it a “cowardly regime” for attempting to block him from campaigning for Masikonde.
He credited his supporters in the area, saying they helped him manoeuvre until he reached the town.
“Clear instructions had been issued by this cowardly and brutal regime to block me and my entourage from accessing Narok Town to campaign for the DCP Democracy Candidate for Narok Ward, Hon. Douglas Masikonde,” Gachagua wrote on social media.
“Being a villager, I engaged my fellow villagers in Narok who guided me through village paths unknown to the police, and made a triumphant entry into Narok Town, where I was received by thousands of jubilant DCP supporters. How can you beat me in my game?”
