Nakuru West Member of Parliament Samuel Arama has announced that he will seek re-election in 2027 on a Jubilee Party ticket.

The third-term legislator, while speaking during an interview with local TV on August 23, 2025, affirmed that he remains firmly rooted in the party that secured his seat in the 2022 General Election.

“I am still in jubilee; there is nowhere I am going. I am in Jubilee, and I will vie under Jubilee in 2027,” Arama stated.

Arama exuded confidence in his 2027 bid, noting that the race will be easier for him as all six of his competitors have shifted to the Gachagua-led Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), leaving him as the sole Jubilee candidate in the constituency. He maintained that this scenario already gives him an early advantage as he prepares for the next poll.

On the presidential contest, the MP stated that his support will go to whichever candidate Jubilee fields, whether it is the sitting president or Fred Matiang’i. He stressed that his loyalty will remain with the party’s flag bearer in the race to State House.

“I will support a candidate which my party, Jubilee, will be supporting in 2027; I will campaign for a candidate that will be sponsored by the party. Whoever will be in Jubilee will be my candidate,” he added.

For now, Arama said his focus is on working closely with the government to deliver development to his constituents.

He argued that aligning with the government remains the surest way to guarantee resources and progress for the people of Nakuru West, ruling out the possibility of joining the opposition.

Support for Gikaria

This comes moments after him expressing confidence in Nakuru East MP David Gikaria, who has declared his interest in the senatorial seat in the 2027 elections.

Arama stated that Gikaria has the necessary experience and capacity to deliver effectively if given the opportunity to serve as senator.

“I know his capacity; he has been an MP three times and a councillor three times. I think he has the capacity,” Arama said.
