‘My administration is fully committed to invest in the men in uniform’ -President Ruto

President William Ruto has pledged that his administration is fully committed to the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) investment.

Speaking during a KDF event held at the Laikipia Airbase on Friday, October 14, 2022, the head of state acknowledged that his administration would fulfil its mandate to the officers by offering training, acquisition and access to medical care.

“The government’s commitment to the men in uniform will remain paramount. My administration is committed to investing in the men in uniform through training, acquisition of weapons, access to medical care, and education,”Ruto said.

The head of state additionally stated that the officers had played a significant role in enhancing peace and stability in the country.

“We pay homage to the bravery of our warriors in defending and protecting our sovereignty, and territorial integrity,” he stated.

The country’s first-in-command further acknowledged that the welfare of soldiers and their families was vital.

Ruto’s first millitary event

The event which is meant to celebrate the 11th anniversary to commemorate the sacrifice of fallen heroes marks the first military event Ruto has presided over since he was sworn in as the country’s fifth president.

It was started after the launch of Operation Linda Nchi in October 2011 and has since been observed by the officers.
