Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has heaped praise on the new three Cabinet Secretaries in President William Ruto‘s government.

After nomination and approval by Parliament Mutahi Kagwe, William Kabogo and Lee Kinyanjui took oaths of office on Friday, January 17, 2025, at State House, an event presided over by the President.

Kinyanjui, a former Nakuru County Governor is now in charge of the Ministry of Trade and Investment, Kabogo, on the other hand, has had the Ministry of  Information, Communications and the Digital Economy handed over to him.

Kagwe, who served as Health CS under President Uhuru Kenyatta, will be in charge of Agriculture as he returns to the cabinet.

Mudavadi believes the trio have the necessary experience to run their new dockets and looks forward to working with the former Members of Parliament.

“With their wealth of experience and strong leadership acumen, they are set to play a pivotal role in driving collaboration across government institutions to create a more inclusive, efficient, transparent, and results-driven administration one that truly serves Kenyans with commitment and excellence.

“Congratulations to the three. I look forward to working together as we strengthen our team and accelerate transformative progress for our nation,” Mudavadi’s post on X read.

Ruto’s message

Mudavadi’s message echoes what President Ruto said about his three new CSs.

“Coupled with their solid leadership skills and capabilities, we are confident that they will steer our country’s transformation while advancing our Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda,” the Head of State said in a statement on X.

Both Kabogo and Kinyanjui took to their respective X accounts to promise to do their best and deliver.

“Honoured to be sworn in as Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy at State House, Nairobi. I promise to serve all Kenyans with fairness, dedication, and a commitment to delivering a digitally empowered nation.

“Together, let’s build Kenya’s future,” Kabogo said.

“I pledge to do my best to fulfill the Ministry’s mandate, especially in revitalizing manufacturing & positioning Kenya as a regional investment hub,” Kinyanjui stated.

The three join what President Ruto has described as a broad-based government after incorporation of members from the opposition outfit, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
