MP reveals plot to heckle Uhuru at Rubia’s burial

Murang’a County women representative Wanjiru Chege has unleashed scathing attacks on her Kandara counterpart Alice Wahome accusing her of disrespecting President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Wanjiru said the claims by Wahome that President is denying leaders their freedom of expression and political affiliation are untrue.

Speaking in Murang’a, Chege urged the MP to stop insulting the president in the name of seeking political relevance.

She said Wahome could be having a hidden agenda and there could be under hands in her statement.

“Let her come clean on her agenda and stop hiding behind the freedom of expression debate,” said Chege.

Chege claims there was a plan by Wahome and some other leaders to heckle Uhuru during Charles Rubia’s burial but the plan flopped.

“We know what had been planned but things did not go as planned and that’s why she is very bitter,” she added.

She said its a shame that the leaders from the central region, which is a strong hold of the President, have continuously been attacking him for no good reason.

“I don’t understand why all the blame is being put on the President while he runs the government with his deputy who also should be held accountable,” she said.

“We don’t have two governments and thus the leaders should not be attacking Uhuru alone,” she added.
