MP Ngogoyo links All Saints Cathedral attack to individuals seen at state functions
Kajiado North MP Onesmus Ngogoyo has sparked fresh political debate after suggesting a possible link between individuals seen at official state functions and those allegedly involved in last Friday’s violent disruption at All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi.
Speaking in an interview with a local TV station on Monday, June 15, 2026, the lawmaker pointed an accusing finger at unnamed government officials over what he termed suspicious political mobilisation patterns, associating them with the disruption of the meeting.
“The same people seen at state gatherings and accompanying MPs and PSs are the same people who were seen at All Saints Cathedral,” Ngogoyo stated.

All Saints Cathedral chaos
His remarks come in the wake of a shocking incident on Friday, June 12, 2026, when goons stormed a post-budget review meeting held at the historic All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi, disrupting proceedings in what has been widely condemned as a blatant and despicable desecration of a sacred place of worship.
According to eyewitness accounts and security reports, the chaos began at the entrance of the cathedral, where the attackers confronted security guards while forcing their way into the church compound. The situation escalated rapidly as the group overpowered initial resistance and stormed deeper into the premises.
The attackers are reported to have moved beyond the main sanctuary into the conference section of the facility, where civil society groups and stakeholders were holding a post-budget engagement forum. Within minutes, they had reached the second floor of the building, unleashing terror on attendees.

Conference materials were destroyed, several participants were assaulted, and the meeting was brought to an abrupt halt as panic spread through the venue.
Police officers were eventually deployed to the scene, dispersing the assailants and restoring order. One suspect was arrested and is currently in custody as investigations continue into the organised nature of the attack and possible masterminds behind it.
The incident has since ignited political tension, with opposition leaders and civil society actors condemning the breach of security within a religious institution, while also demanding accountability over the alleged use of goons in political intimidation.
