Here is what you need to know to get up to speed with today’s happenings.

Gachagua

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua will be in Laikipia County today where he will preside over two functions.

Gachagua will commission the Makutano Huduma Centre in Ngobit, Laikipia East this morning. The event is scheduled to start at 10:00 am.

Later in the day, the Deputy President is also expected to preside over the Commissioning of Nyahururu Maternity in Nyahururu town.

The event is scheduled to kick off at 12:00 pm.

EALA

Arusha-based East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) has begun holding its 3rd Meeting of the 2nd Session of the 5th Assembly in Nairobi.

EALA’s sessions in Nairobi began in earnest on March 3 and will run to March 20, 2024.

To formally commence the session, EALA will hold a press conference today, Monday, March 4, at 9.30 am at the Media Centre.

Even though EALA is based in Arusha, Tanzania, it routinely holds some of its sessions in cities within its member states.

Parliament committee

The Budget and Appropriations Committee is scheduled to meet today Monday, March 4, 2024, at 10:00 am at Hilton Garden Inn Hotel, Pavilion Suites.

The committee is meeting with the Cabinet Secretary, National Treasury and Economic Planning on the 2024 Budget Policy Statement.

Interior PS

Raymond Omollo, the Principal Secretary for Internal Security and National Administration, will today launch and roll out the reviewed Kenya Coordinated Border Management Program (KCBMP) at the Kenya School of Government in Lower Kabete.

The event is scheduled to start at 9:00 am.
