Here is what you need to know to get up to speed with today’s happenings.

Traffic disruption

Nairobi motorists will be affected by a routine maintenance exercise along James Gichuru Road this weekend.

In a notice, the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) said the maintenance works will be carried out during the night hours and urged motorists using that route to exercise caution.

The exercise, which began on Thursday, March 14, will culminate on Sunday, March 17.

“We wish to notify the General Public that there will be Traffic disruption along James Gichuru Road as from 14th- 17th March 2024 (Night Hours) so as to allow the Contractor improve the road. We urge Motorists using that route to exercise caution as we endeavour to Transform Urban Mobility,” KURA announced.

Power interruptions

Kenya Power announced that several parts of Nyeri County will experience power interruptions today.

The utility firm said the areas affected include Othaya town, Iriani and Kairuthi.

Kenya Power added that the affected areas will be in blackout from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm.

Weekend football action

At least 20 exciting matches will be played today across the top four most prestigious football leagues in the world – EPL, LaLigam Serie A, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga.

EPL will witness 7 matches today with the most anticipated game of the day being the Arsenal Vs Chelsea clash.

Arsenal need a win to remain on top of the league table while 11th-placed Chelsea are just fighting not to slip further at the bottom of the league.

Manchester United will be taking on bottom-placed Sheffield United.
