Maraga unveils 2027 presidential campaign communication team
Former Chief Justice David Maraga has unveiled a team of seven people to be in charge of the communications of his campaign for the 2027 presidential bid.
In a statement on Monday, July 28, 2025, Maraga also unveiled new communication channels he intends to use for his 2027 presidential bid.
“We wish to express our gratitude for the continued feedback from sections of Kenyans on the need to streamline our team’s communication strategy. After collecting suggestions from Kenyans and consulting internally, we have set up the following communication channels affiliated to the David Maraga Campaign: Facebook: @DavidMaraga27, X/Twitter: @David Maraga27, Instagram: @dkmaraga_, TikTok: @dkmaraga, and YouTube: @dkmaraga,” the statement reads.
New social media handles
“These accounts will provide regular updates on the campaign’s operations, including on the grassroots political activities; calendar of activities, including media engagements; fundraising efforts; and the status of the mobilization platform. The @dkmaraga Twitter account will continue to be used for direct communication from CJ (Emeritus) David Maraga.”
The team of seven individuals includes Carolyne Kiarie, Gloria Michira, Lewis Ngunyi, Nyamisa Chelagat, Shallet Kutment, Shakira Wafula, and Susan Lumumba.

He has also launched a website for his 2027 campaigns, where his supporters can engage.
“Powered by your energy and enthusiasm, we are ready for the journey ahead. We will have good days, and we will have days when we should have done better. But our commitment is that, as the CJ Emeritus said, We will not let you down,” the statement reads.
Robust systems
“We shall continue to listen to your input, as we build robust systems together that will ensure a certain path towards the Kenya of our courageous dreams.”

While Maraga has yet to settle on a political party or a coalition of parties to contest for the 2027 presidency, he faces an uphill task in convincing his Gusii backyard, who have fielded another candidate- Fred Matiang’i.
Maraga fashions himself as the Gen Z presidential candidate, and remains a favourite among the youthful voters, who bank on his political inexperience as the only way to drain the swamp of old names in the current political scene.
