Detectives from the Special Crimes Unit on Saturday arrested a 21-year-old Rashid Barasa Omari who stole from young women after sending them fare to meet him.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations(DCI) said the suspect has been luring young women and college girls into his snare by promising them affordable and lucrative holiday deals.

“Detectives attached to the Serious Crimes Unit have this morning arrested a suspect following a spate of disappearances of young college girls from their homes, ” posted the DCI on Facebook.

On online platforms, the suspect posed as a tour operator and fished for victims from Facebook pages belonging to tour companies, the DCI reported.
