CS Magoha says CBC contractors will be paid by Ruto’s government
Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) George Magoha now says President-elect William Ruto’s government will pay Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) contractors their dues.
Speaking in Bungoma county on Saturday, September 10, the CS assured the contractors that they will get paid after the new administration settles.
He also asked his successor in the ministry to ensure that all contractors are paid.
“By the time we transit to the new government, I hope all the 10,000 classrooms will have been completed and those who will not have been paid, the incoming government to ensure that once the exchequer is open, we should pay the contractors very quickly. The classrooms have been contracted at a reasonably good price,” he stated.
Magoha highlighted that the contractors experienced delays in their pay because of the transition of the financial year and the new administration.
The CS also lauded the contractors for completing 99 percent of the classes with the remaining classes set to be completed on Monday, September 12.
