Lawmakers will this week vote on a motion calling for the immediate abolishment of the delocalisation policy that commenced in 2018.

This came after the MPs concluded debate on the motion last week where they accused the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Chief Executive Nancy Macharia for mismanaging the entire programme.

The lawmakers regretted under the leadership of Macharia, teachers have suffered with some of them losing their families as they had to be deployed in far away  areas from their families.

According to the motion the delocalisation exercise was not supported with a clear policy framework and was initiated without the participation of teachers or their unions, contrary to Articles 118 and 132 of the Constitution on public participation and involvement of the people in the process of policy-making.
