Kindiki vows to get rid of Al Shabaab

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki (pictured) yesterday assured that the government will eliminate Alshabaab in the country.

Speaking in Wajir county where he presided over the operationalisation of Kotulo Sub-County, Tarbaj Constituency, the CS said they are determined to restore peace in the North Eastern region by dealing with the terrorist group.  “That is our biggest enemy right now. They have caused havoc in their country and are bringing that into Kenya. We have declared war on al-Shabaab. They might think they will outsmart us but we will crush them like we did cattle rustlers,” Kindiki vowed.

Resist radicalisation

While assuring residents that the Kenya Kwanza government will win the war against terror, Kindiki told parents to  remain vigilant and counsel their children to resist radicalisation or recruitment into terror groups.

According to him, all Kenyans should work with the security officers and resist attempts by terror groups to radicalise the youth into violent extremism.  “Terrorism remains a key national security concern and the Government will triumph over terror.”

Kindiki pledged that the government will equip security officers with modern equipment to protect them against armed criminals and enable them to protect Kenyans and their property.
