Ichung’wah, who has risen to become one of President William Ruto’s most trusted allies in Parliament, has often spoken about the values instilled in him by his late father, crediting his upbringing for shaping his leadership journey.

Mzee Ngugi’s passing comes at a time when Ichung’wah remains a central figure in Kenya Kwanza politics, championing government policies and steering parliamentary debate.

Messages of condolence are expected to start pouring in from political leaders, colleagues, and members of the public, many of whom will likely hail Mzee Ngugi as a symbol of resilience who witnessed Kenya’s transformation from colonial times to the modern republic.
