Former Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has shared nuggets of wisdom with Kenyans, calling for self-introspection amid sustained criticism of the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Speaking during an interview with Eastleigh Voice on Saturday, May 3, 2025, Kibwana pointed out that Kenya was lagging behind due to what he described as negative values upheld by most citizens and leaders.

He advised that everyone should strive to learn and uphold values such as honesty, integrity and ubuntu, to help progress the country forward.

The former county chief particularly referred to his life stating that education, faith and community shaped his life, encouraging Kenyans to emulate him.

“You get values from your parents, church, mosque, schools are also very important in teaching values and even the community where you find yourself growing,

“Learn positive values wherever you are so that you add value in what you are doing. Values are critical, that is something we are missing, we are running a country that does not believe in any values therefore we cannot do well,” he added.

The former county head also weighed in on the country’s political temperatures, stressing the need for impactful and productive politics for the sake of the country’s progress.

He expressed optimism noting that he was hopeful that Kenya will return to the Mwai Kibaki days, where he says, politics was focused on the collective good.
