Kibaki rose from ‘Bottom-Up’ – DP Ruto

Deputy President William Ruto has eulogized Kibaki as the finest economist Kenya has ever had having laid a solid economic foundation for Kenya’s prosperity.
The late Mwai Kibaki, he says, was a man of great simplicity who rose from being a goat’s tender to the topmost position of the country.

In his tribute during the State Funeral service held at Nyayo stadium, Ruto unearthed that his boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta was a student of Kibaki in many ways.
“Kibaki was a distinguished leader and indeed the greatest President Kenya ever had. President Uhuru who is my boss was a good student of Kibaki, I know that as his deputy,” said Ruto.
The Second in Command acclaimed the late Kibaki for having been part of Kenya’s independence and made a huge contribution to the formation of the first government.

“He laid a foundation in education, infrastructural development among other sectors from which President Uhuru built an elaborate, expansive economy,” he added.
“When the history of Kenya is written, we might need a separate book because of what he did for this nation,” Ruto noted.
At the same time, Ruto lauded his boss got having built heritage of honouring leaders in their retirement and death.
The late retired President Emilio Mwai Kibaki will be laid to rest at his Othaya home tomorrow, Saturday, April 30.
