Kenyans allocated more tickets for Tokyo Olympics
Kingdom Sports Group, the authorised Ticket Reseller for Tokyo 2020 Olympics, have more ticket allocation for the Games which will go on sale on Monday.
Kenyans have given a huge share of the tickets, the company’s director Daniel Beniston announced in Nairobi yesterday.
Speaking on behalf of the Australian marketing company, Beniston said the final allocation, which will open at 9am Kenyan time, will implement the queue it system to provide fair conditions for everyone.
This comes amid fears that the multi-sport extravaganza, planned for July 24 to August 9, might be postponed due to the coronavirus which originated in China but has spread around the world including Olympics host country Japan.
Beniston says the company will work closely with the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee and the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK) to help welcome fans to the Games with a wide variety of ticket and package options.
“The demand for tickets has been high. So when the final allocation is open, we shall ensure that an individual is limited to 20, a maximum of four tickets per session and a maximum of five sessions,” said Beniston.
“The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 will be an incredible celebration of sport and culture, an experience of a lifetime in one of the world’s great cities.
Last July, the ticket sales were insane and they sold out almost immediately after opening,” he added, while failing to reveal the exact number of tickets allocated to Kenyans due to an existing non-disclosure clause with the International Olympic Committee.
Depending on seating allocations, athletics, which has been given the biggest allocation, will have the most expensive ticket going for Sh30,000 while the average ticket goes for Sh20,000.
