Kenya Power lists areas to experience outages on Tuesday, December 2

Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions across several counties on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. The outages, which are part of routine maintenance, will affect homes, businesses, schools, and institutions, mainly between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.

In Nairobi, residents in Obama, Hemi Chemi, and surrounding areas will experience an outage from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Parts of Riverside Drive will also be affected during the same period, including Riverside Residency, Pearl Residence, the Ugandan and German High Commissions, Riverside Mews, Mandari Kindergarten, IBury Lounge, the International Organization of Migration, Strathmore School, Mzima Springs, and parts of Tende Drive and Sri Aurobindo Avenue.

Parts of Makueni County will also face day-long interruptions. Areas between Emali and Nziu, including Emali Town, Kalamba Fruit Factory, Nziu Market, and surrounding markets, will be without electricity from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Similarly, areas around Emali’s Simba Cement, Emali Masaini, Isara Market, Mashuru Market, Jet Inn Hotel, Portland Cement, and other nearby locations will experience outages during the same hours.

Power outages hit Rift, Western, Mt. Kenya

In the Central Rift region, Kericho and Bomet counties will see power cuts on Tuesday. In Kericho, areas around Kaitui Market, Soko Huru, Kamasega Dispensary, Chepsoo Dispensary, Kapkawa, and Chesiche will be affected.

In Bomet, residents in Olpisiai, GK Prisons Kilgoris, Lolgorian, Mararlanda, and surrounding communities will experience outages from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Western Kenya will also see interruptions in Kakamega County, where Shiatsala Market, Manyulia, Mabole, Khumitibo, and Maobo TTI will be affected from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

In the Mt. Kenya region, parts of Nyeri County, including Rongai, Kakulet, Dawama, and Narumoro, will experience outages. Areas around Kiriani and Kamacharia, including Kiriani Mission Hospital, Kamacharia Girls, Kariki Market, Gikira Hydro Power, and nearby factories and schools, will also be without electricity from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Residents in parts of Kiambu County, including Escarpment, Kimende, and Kambaa, will face similar interruptions. Key areas include Escarpment Village, Gituamba Girls Borehole, Carbacid Factory, Kinale, and surrounding markets.

Kenya Power says the planned outages are necessary to carry out essential maintenance and network upgrades. Residents and businesses are advised to plan ahead to avoid disruptions in daily activities.
