Kenya Met issues weather update for Saturday, November 15
The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued the daily weather forecast for the period between Friday, November 14, and Saturday, November 15, 2025, highlighting a blend of sunny intervals, rainfall, and strong winds across various parts of the country.
According to the forecast released on Thursday afternoon, most regions will experience mainly sunny intervals at the weekend, although rain and thunderstorms remain likely in select zones, particularly in the Highlands, the Coastal region, and parts of Eastern Kenya.
The department has also warned of strong southeasterly winds exceeding 25 knots (12.5m/s) in Marsabit and Turkana counties.
Lake Victoria Basin forecast
Counties including Kakamega, Vihiga, Busia, Bungoma, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Kericho, Nandi, Nakuru, Elgeyo Marakwet, Bomet, Siaya, Nyamira, Kisii, Migori, West Pokot, Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Trans Nzoia, and Narok are set to experience showers and thunderstorms in a few places within the communicated period.

Highlands East of the Rift Valley
In counties such as Nyeri, Murang’a, Kirinyaga, Embu, Meru, Kiambu, Tharaka Nithi, Laikipia, Nyandarua, and Nairobi, showers and thunderstorms will occur in isolated areas. Residents should prepare for possible rains and thunderstorms in select localities.
North Western region
For Turkana and Samburu, partly cloudy skies will prevail, with sunny intervals dominating the period. Turkana County will, however, experience strong southeasterly winds exceeding 25 knots.
North Eastern region
Areas including Marsabit, Garissa, Mandera, Wajir, and Isiolo will experience partly cloudy conditions. The areas will see mainly sunny conditions with a chance of rain in a few places, before thunderstorms develop in some areas. Marsabit County will be notably windy, with southeasterly gusts of up to 25 knots.

South Eastern lowlands
In counties such as Machakos, Makueni, Kitui, Taita Taveta, and Kajiado, residents should expect showers and thunderstorms in isolated places within the highlighted period. The weather will turn cloudy with chances of rain in a few areas, followed by sunny intervals. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms could still occur in scattered places.
Coastal region
The coastal strip covering Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Lamu, and Tana River, will experience partly cloudy skies tonight. Friday morning brings a chance of showers in a few areas, but conditions will improve to sunny intervals for the rest of the day.
The Kenya Meteorological Department urges residents, particularly in areas expected to experience thunderstorms and strong winds, to exercise caution.
