Kenya Kwanza chiefs claim Raila will be a ‘shadow president’

Kenya Kwanza Alliance principals have alleged that ODM leader Raila Odinga will be “a shadow president” if elected to State House.
Speaking at Kimana, Kajiado county yesterday, the leaders claimed Raila was a State project, who will be used to protect corrupt cartels in government.
Leaders noted that individuals, who operate as cartels, fear that Deputy President William Ruto’s government will ruthlessly fight corruption.
Ruto termed Raila a ring leader of corruption, alleging that his Capitol Hill office has been turned into a cash cow of sanitising corrupt individuals at a fee.
The DP also claimed that Raila was desperately seeking endorsements to be the fifth president.
“We have a few individuals striving their best to impose leaders on Kenyans. Leaders are not elected in hotels by cartels, Kenyans have the capacity to elect leaders of their choice at the ballot box. We will not and we cannot be intimidated by these selfish individuals. We have the people’s power,” he said.
The DP further noted that Raila does not have the capacity to lead the country, warning him against taking credit for Government projects.
Ruto also said the former Premier failed in his opposition mandate and is now hanging on individuals’ coats to impos e himself on Kenyans. “Raila should stop associating himself with the government. This government was formed by me and President Uhuru Kenyatta and after failing in your opposition mandate you came to interrupt us,” he said.
Addressing the residents, Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula asked Uhuru to keep off succession politics to avert creating tension among Kenyans.
“Uhuru should behave like Kibaki who peacefully exited the presidency without interference. Uhuru should stop forcing unwanted people. Raila is Uhuru’s Project and his time has expired,” said Wetangula.
Selfish gain
Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki alleged that Raila has shared proceeds of the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority scandal and he is out to protect them if elected president.
“Raila is corrupt to the core. He messes with everyone he is engaged with. He betrayed Wetangula and other principals he was working with for his selfish gain. He is only out to advance corruption and confusion further,” he said
Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichugw’a claimed the individuals supporting Raila are the cartels involved in the Kemsa scandal.
“The old man is a project and puppet being used to cover corruption. In fact we should stop blaming him and look at the bigger picture of the corrupt faces behind the scenes. The real thieves are pushing Raila so as to continue looting the next government,” claimed Ichugw’a.
Kajiado South MP Katoo ple Metito urged residents to embrace political tolerance to ensure peace prevails before and after elections. “I urge all of you not to fight or engage our opponents in verbal diarrhea,” said Katoo.
The Kenya Kwanza brigade held rallies at Kimana, Loitoktok, Mashuuru, Isinya and Kitengela.
