“This day reminds us of the courage, professionalism, and selfless service of our gallant soldiers, past and present, who continue to defend our sovereignty and uphold our peace,” Tuya said.
Tuya expressed deep gratitude to KDF officers who have paid the ultimate price in the line of duty, saying their sacrifice embodies true patriotism and love for the country.
She also took time to recognise their families, who she said continue to demonstrate strength and resilience even in the face of loss.

“We remember with deep gratitude those who have paid the ultimate price in the line of duty, and we honour their families for their enduring strength and sacrifice,” she said.
She added that her ministry remains committed to working closely with other government agencies to ensure the welfare and morale of soldiers remain a top priority.
Backing Ruto’s leadership in strengthening the KDF
Tuya thanked President William Ruto, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, for what she described as steadfast leadership and continued investment in strengthening the military.
“I acknowledge with gratitude the Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, William Samoei Ruto, whose steadfast leadership and support continue to strengthen our Defence Forces and inspire our collective mission of safeguarding the nation,” she said.

Commitment to innovation and readiness
Tuya said the Ministry of Defence and relevant departments will continue investing in training, innovation, and welfare programs to ensure KDF remains at the forefront of national security and development.
“A soldier-centric approach means placing the welfare, morale, and readiness of our troops at the heart of every mission because a supported soldier is a mission-ready soldier,” she added.
She concluded by celebrating every KDF officer for their patriotism and dedication, describing them as the backbone of Kenya’s peace and stability.
“To every military personnel of our KDF, I celebrate you! Your dedication and patriotism continue to inspire our nation,” she said.
