Kasmuel defends Oketch Salah, urges ODM members to back Oburu Oginga
By Kiprono Keileb, December 30, 2025ODM member Kasmuel McOure has come out strongly in defence of Oketch Salah, urging party members to focus on unity and support for party leader Oburu Oginga.
In a statement shared on X on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, Kasmuel criticized online attacks and internal disputes that he says threaten the party’s cohesion.

“My elder brother, Oketch Salah embodies a rare generosity of spirit. He is kind to a fault and civil beyond measure, even in the face of conflict. I have watched people attack his person online, leaders who know better and would never dare utter these words to his face,” Kasmuel said.
He further condemned attempts by some individuals to exploit Salah’s position while simultaneously undermining him.
“It cannot be that when you need first-class tickets for yourselves and your families, or access to high-level functions locally and internationally, you suddenly remember that he is one of Baba’s sons. Then, once you are comfortable, you unleash bloggers to slander him or send opportunists to deceive him. Salah did not come this far by being blind. He sees through serpentine characters, however persistent they may be,” Kasmuel added.

Kasmuel also stressed that such actions are part of a broader effort to isolate ODM leader Oburu Oginga and disrupt party organisation.
“This is not random behaviour. It is part of a deliberate effort to isolate Oburu Oginga from his true friends and leave him exposed to disorganisation that falsely portrays him as a temporary leader. That kind of sabotage, from any quarter, is unacceptable,” he said.
He urged members to recognise Oburu Oginga as the party’s guiding force and to protect the office he holds.
“Oburu Oginga is our Party Leader. If ODM presents a presidential candidate, it will be him. The direction in this party flows from that office. You cannot enjoy the privilege of proximity to leadership and abandon its defence. Like Baba, Daktari has deep roots and powerful friends, and he knows who his friends are. His conduct towards Salah has been unequivocal. He counts him among his closest and most trusted allies,” Kasmuel said.

Concluding his statement, Kasmuel called on members to focus on party cohesion and honour the legacy of Baba while supporting Salah and Oburu Oginga.
“Stop this distraction. Let us focus on keeping our Party Leader dignified as he completes the work of liberation he began alongside his brother, Baba. Salah, as I have said before, keep working and protecting that office. Give him the treatment Baba received. Dignify him for the foot soldiers who believe in this party,” he added.
